PSHE/RSHE network meetings for ITT providers

Free termly online network meetings to help you support your students to get to grips with PSHE education, including statutory DfE  requirements.

As an ITT provider, you play a vital role in preparing the next generation of PSHE teachers to teach the subject safely and effectively.
Our termly network meetings will help you to:
  • Develop your understanding of PSHE education (including statutory responsibilities) and the important role it plays in the curriculum
  • Help to ensure ITE meets all trainees’ needs and expectations regarding teaching PSHE education
  • Provide a supportive networking forum that includes sharing research-informed, effective PSHE education practice

  • PSHE updates / sharing current and relevant research
  • ‘Further developing our PSHE provision’ 
    — Helen Benson, Senior Lecturer, University of Winchester
    Helen will share insights on the rationale for further developing the University’s offer of PSHE education within Foundation Subject modules and what this will look like for undergraduate and postgraduate trainee teachers.
  • ‘Global learning through PSHE Education (with a focus on climate education)’
    — Jacquie Ayre, Lead Mentor PGCE/DE, Liverpool John Moore’s University
    Jacquie will share insights on how global learning can be taught through PSHE education for trainee teachers, thereby supporting them to develop this within a school curriculum. Examples will be shared of how this important focus can be embedded in the ‘Living in the Wider World’ aspect of PSHE, show the value and relevance of using the Sustainable Development Goals as a framework, as well as exploring climate justice in the classroom.
