We recently published ‘key questions’ on what this means in practice for schools.
In summary, it’s about building on what you’re already doing well through PSHE; not just teaching to the guidance, but using it to inform broader PSHE; and making sure areas such as economic wellbeing and careers are still prioritised. These ‘key questions’ should prove useful when explaining the changes to leadership or colleagues.
This truly is a ‘new era’ for PSHE education, which is also the theme of our annual conference events this year. Our London event (27th June) is now sold out, but there are still some places left at our Leeds event on 13th of June. We will of course explore the statutory changes and provide a great range of practical workshops, inspiring keynotes, latest guidance and networking opportunities.
We are also building our range of CPD training days to help you prepare for the statutory requirements and address a number of challenges facing children and young people today. We’ll be in touch with more details of new training very soon, but in the meantime visit our training page for a list of upcoming courses.
