Use this Subject Review and Development Framework with the interactive PSHE Education Subject Review Tool to assess, plan and develop your PSHE education, including statutory Relationships, Sex and Health education.

The Subject Review and Development Framework is designed for use with our PSHE Education Subject Review Tool, so if you haven't already, we would advise you to complete each stage of your subject review using the interactive Subject Review Tool first. This will allow you to assess your school’s preparedness in key areas (PSHE education leadership, management and organisation; the curriculum — including statutory RSHE content; and teaching and learning in PSHE education).

You can then use this framework — which sets out the descriptors for the different stages of development — to identify strengths, areas for improvement and the specific next steps you should take in developing your PSHE education provision. It also contains relevant links to a wealth of PSHE Association (and other) materials and resources to support you in planning and implementing a comprehensive programme that includes statutory Health Education and Relationships Education/RSE.
