Online CPD: Foundations for wellbeing: Embedding mental health into your PSHE curriculum (primary)

With greater focus on children’s mental health than ever, now is the time to embed essential mental health and wellbeing education into your PSHE curriculum while meeting new statutory Relationships and Health Education requirements.

Next taking place on 11 November 2026, 09:30-12:30.

"By equipping pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to regulate their emotions, manage their attention and support their own wellbeing, you'll help give children in your school the best possible chance to lead the healthy, happy and safe lives they deserve."

Session description

Building on our partnership with academics at the University of York, this live online 3-hour training will provide practical and research-informed insights and advice – from best practice pedagogy to the latest psychological research and neuroscience – to ensure that you feel confident teaching about mental health and wellbeing.

Led by one of our Subject Specialists — the leading national experts in PSHE/RSHE — with slides and accompanying resources shared following the session.

Ideal for:

✓  PSHE leads and curriculum coordinators responsible for planning and quality-assuring how mental health is taught across both PSHE and the wider curriculum

✓ Class teachers who teach PSHE to their own class and want to build pupils’ vocabulary for feelings and healthy self-regulation strategies

✓ Pastoral, safeguarding, and wellbeing leads who support pupils beyond the classroom and want mental health teaching and wider pupil support to work hand in hand

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore current trends in children’s mental health and wellbeing and factors that influence these trends.
  • Gain evidence-based insights into what works, helping you to empower pupils with practical knowledge, skills and proven self-regulation strategies to manage their attention, behaviour and emotions.
  • Build your confidence in teaching safe, effective and engaging lessons using our world-leading Foundations for Wellbeing curriculum.
