Early years foundation stage (EYFS)

The early years foundation stage (EYFS) provides many of the building blocks of PSHE education, for example through children’s Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED).

Our EYFS session plans provide a range of engaging activity ideas to support children’s PSHE learning at this important stage in their development — from play-based activities and quality fiction suggestions to reflective discussion.

Termly teaching suggestions

We've listed our EYFS materials below in the order we would recommend teaching them; however, you can adapt or change this to suit the children in your class.

  • NSPCC Tak Pants cover image
Use the resources for early years from NSPCC to introduce children to the PANTS rule and vital tools to help keep safe from harm and abuse.
  • Dental health [EYFS]
Use these flexible, play-based activities to introduce how to look after teeth, including why brushing matters.
