Next School Plus Live dates - coming summer term 2026

Welcome to School Plus – date to be announced summer 2026

We will be re-running our Welcome to School Plus online event in summer term 2026 - date to be confirmed, 4–4:30pm for any new School Plus members or those who couldn't attend the last session.

This will be a great opportunity for you and your colleagues to:

  • Get to grips with School Plus. We’ll run through how to use the School Plus platform, courses and dashboard. We’ll also highlight upcoming live events so you can save the dates.
  • Share your thoughts. Let us know what you’d like to see next and share your initial views and feedback on what you’ve seen so far.
  • Network with other School Plus members. We’ll have break out rooms for you to discuss and compare your experiences of teacher training with other colleagues.

Live online session with guest speaker - date to be announced for June 2026

Previous iterations of our School Plus live events have included:
  • Autumn 2025: A climate-focused session featuring expert guest speaker Alison Kitson, Programme Director for UCL's Centre for Climate Change and Sustainability Education (Autumn 2025)
  • Spring 2026: Live online session on sexual ethics and beyond consent with guest speaker
Elly Hanson, Clinical Psychologist and Researcher
Elly Hanson

Elly is a Clinical Psychologist and researcher with a focus on tackling abuse and other harms towards children, and is more widely involved in supporting young people to flourish and enjoy positive relationships. She is Research Lead at Fully Human, an initiative of the PSHE Association, and in this role authored a far-reaching report on pornography and an essay series on sex and ethics in the digital age. Other ways she supports good quality PSHE include research with young people and synthesis and analysis of evidence.

Elly also works with law enforcement, a range of civil society organisations, and survivors. For over ten years she worked with CEOP (the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, part of the National Crime Agency) and led their development of a preventive education resource for schools, Respecting me, you, us: Building healthy relationships and creating positive cultures. She has authored a variety of academic papers and chapters, including those on online abuse and how the ‘tech freedom’ ideology has been conducive to it.

During this event, attendees had the opportunity to network and share ideas with other School Plus members and participated in a live Q&A with our team and Elly.
