These age-appropriate resources show pupils that families come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes change if parents separate.
The lessons normalise the range of emotions that children go through when parents separate and teach children about the sources of help available to them, supporting the statutory Relationships Education requirements and learning opportunities in our Programme of Study. They will help pupils understand and exercise their rights under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), including their rights to information, consultation and (for the minority who may need it) representation when parents separate.
