Our lessons and guidance will give teachers and schools the confidence to teach about consent effectively from key stage 1 right through to key stage 5/post-16, and cover everything from the law on consent to key considerations for safe, effective teaching.

The key stage 1 and 2 lessons will help you lay the foundations for learning about this important topic at a young age. They cover giving and seeking permission; personal boundaries; and appropriate/inappropriate touch. 

At key stage 3 and 4, students consider key concepts around consent, including: freedom and capacity to consent; the role of intimacy and pleasure; the impact of pornography; how to avoid assumptions; and pressure, persuasion and coercion.

Accompanying teacher guidance covers everything from the law on consent to key considerations for safe, effective teaching. These materials will give you everything you need to plan, sequence and teach this statutory RSHE content within a PSHE education programme tailored to your pupils’ needs.
