Autumn term roundup: latest resources and upcoming opportunities
We know how busy it gets. So here’s a reminder of some of our latest resources plus a few things to look out for next term.
In the meantime, have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. We’ll see you on the other side!
New Drug education lesson suite (KS1-5)
These materials update and extend our popular 2020 suite. Starting in KS1 with a lesson on how to manage risk in relation to household products and medicines, and finishing in KS5 with a lesson on the risks and consequences of substance use when travelling — with lessons on everything in between.
We’ve worked closely with experts at the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) and other leading academics to ensure that all of the supporting evidence, information and statistical data is accurate and up to date. We’ve also included additional content on important areas of increasing concern, including vaping and synthetic drugs.
The lesson materials have been fully redesigned to enhance the user experience for both you and your pupils. The slide decks that accompany each of the lessons are available exclusively to PSHE Association members.

What is AI? KS2-3 lesson pack
Developed in partnership with The Alan Turing Institute, What is AI? Introduces learning about artificial intelligence (AI), how it used in daily life, and some of the potential benefits and challenges of using this technology.
As the official subject association for PSHE education, we had the privilege of working with The Alan Turing Institute’s Children & AI team on this project, translating their expertise into a practical lesson pack you can use in the classroom with confidence.

The sleep factor (KS1-5)
Working once again with experts at Evelina London Children’s Hospital’s sleep medicine service, we’ve created a brand new sleep factor lesson pack for KS5/post-16 students and updated existing primary and secondary lesson packs with the latest research, best practice and a fresh design.
Listen to our interview with the sleep doctors to learn more about what’s new and the life-changing impact of a good night’s sleep for children and young people.

Understanding Player Experiences of Loot Box Protections [Research opportunity for secondary schools]
We’re supporting the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in its efforts to find out more about children and young people’s use of loot boxes, their awareness of potential risks involved, and the effectiveness of existing protections. This is an exciting opportunity for colleagues to take part in ground-breaking research to inform the Government’s evidence base and solutions.
You can find out more and register your interest here or wait until next term when we’ll make more details available.
