Programme of Study update, Spring Conference latest & new CPD dates

There’s been a lot to take in this half-term — from our podcast on age-appropriate drug education to our free guide on the ethics, pitfalls and possibilities of using AI for PSHE.

We’ve also just launched a new fully resourced mental health curriculum for secondary schools, including 15 lessons, PowerPoints, a teacher handbook and classroom posters. This complements our existing Foundations for Wellbeing curriculum for primary schools.

As you would expect, much of our work this year is focused on helping members prepare for the implementation of the updated statutory RSHE requirements in time for the September 2026 deadline, and we’re continuing to develop our support package for this.

Here’s a reminder of what’s available already:

Update on our Programme of Study and Programme Builders

Of course, a major aspect our support package will be our new Programme of Study and updated programme builders. 

We had originally planned to launch our new Programme of Study at the end of this year, but we will now be publishing it in the Spring term so that we can provide a comprehensive and complementary support package at the same time.

This will allow plenty of time for you to plan for September 2026, with everything you need to implement the statutory changes effectively in one place, including updated, improved and simplified programme builders — our curriculum models that help you design the perfect PSHE education programme for your school.

These will be supported by fully compliant, quality assured lesson plans that span the full PSHE curriculum, including RSHE.

All of this and more will be available to PSHE Association members at a fraction of the cost of commercial alternatives, with additional on-demand CPD available for School Plus members.

You’ll be the first to know once the new Programme of Study and programme builders are available, and we appreciate your patience in the meantime while we work on making them as relevant and practical as possible.

Spring Online Conference 2026: Bookings now open!

The wait is over — bookings are now officially open for our annual online Spring Conference, taking place on Thursday 12 March 2026 (9:30–13:00).

Live CPD opportunities next half-term

We have an exciting range of live CPD courses available next half-term — all designed and delivered by our team of national PSHE experts and packed with practical guidance for your unique setting.

New! Courses on community cohesion in the digital world [Online]

Children and young people are increasingly exposed to divisive online narratives, and these attitudes can filter into school corridors and classrooms, posing a threat to community cohesion. This course will help you identify harmful online narratives, how to manage conflict in school and how to counter division through your PSHE curriculum.

RSHE: Successfully implementing the new statutory requirements [Online]

This online course will explain the implications of the DfE’s new statutory requirements for you and your school, and offer practical steps on how to implement them — including how to plan, suggested resources and tailored advice. It will also cover the new content covered by the 2025 guidance including

KS5: Planning your PSHE curriculum at key stage 5/post-16 [Online]

Designed to support PSHE leads or teachers in sixth-form or post-16 settings, this online course explores how to plan and develop an age-appropriate curriculum that meets your students’ needs as they prepare for adulthood. You’ll come away with a clear understanding of what safe and effective PSHE education looks like for this age group.

RSHE: Successfully implementing the new statutory requirements [Face-to-face]

Join us in London for the full-day version of our CPD course on implementing the new statutory requirements, which goes into more depth on the new RSHE guidance changes and gives you the opportunity to network and share ideas with other PSHE professionals in person.
