Drug and Alcohol Education Lessons — Map to your scheme of work now
The lessons will explore the facts, laws, risks and consequences associated with drug and alcohol use, as well as the dangers of household items and prescribed medications. They will equip pupils with the skills needed to manage social influence and pressure, and provide them with the knowledge, understanding, attributes, and strategies to keep themselves healthy and safe.
The lessons have been designed to address all the explicit drug and alcohol education included in the PSHE Association Programme of Study and the Department for Education (DfE) statutory guidance for Relationships Education/ Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education.
To allow you to plan these into your schemes of work for the new school year, the tables below map the lesson content against the relevant learning opportunities from the PSHE Association Programme of Study’s core themes at each Key Stage. They also identify where content from the DfE statutory guidance for Relationships Education/ Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) and Health Education is addressed through the lessons.
The lesson plans provide approximate timings for each activity and are based on a one-hour lesson. They will be launched at the beginning of the Autumn term and will be free to download for everyone in PDF format, with additional PowerPoint versions available to members of the PSHE Association.
