We’re thrilled to announce two more incredible speakers for this year’s Spring Conference, taking place online on 6 March, 9:30 - 13:00 GMT.

Joining Dr. Chris van Tulleken and Jeffrey Boakye, we have Dr. Amy Orben — leading expert on technology’s impact on mental health — and Natalie Foos from VoiceBox, whose innovative research looks into young people’s relationships with chatbots, and the risks involved.

Dr. Amy Orben: Smartphones, social media and mental health

Dr. Amy Orben leads an internationally renowned research programme at the University of Cambridge, investigating the links between digital technology use and mental health in childhood and adolescence.

Her team is currently delivering research to inform the UK’s approach to smartphones and screens, and their findings have influenced policymakers, educators and parents globally.

This discussion will draw on her perspective as one of the world's leading experts in how digitalisation and social media use impact adolescent mental health. Dr. Orben will share insights from her innovative research, and the nuanced approach required to support young people's wellbeing in a digital world.

Natalie Foos: Relationships and RSE in the age of generative AI

Natalie Foos is the Director of VoiceBox, an international platform helping young creators thrive and the source of innovative research, including their ‘Coded Companions: Young People's Relationships With AI Chatbots’ report.

Natalie will join us for a conversation on the impact of an increasing number of young people forging relationships with chatbots, despite few guardrails or protections.

We'll discuss what the research shows us about the risks and harms involved: from concerns over data and privacy, to negative impacts on relationship expectations, social isolation and safeguarding.

Don’t miss your opportunity to hear from Amy, Natalie and the other speakers in our inspiring lineup on 6 March book your place now.
