Attitudes and disability: the experiences of disabled people in 2022 [new Scope report]

Written by PSHE Association | Aug 3, 2022 9:59:56 AM

Key topics within PSHE education can help learners to: develop a secure understanding of positive relationship behaviours; recognise the impact of bullying and discrimination and how to challenge it; and respect the differences and similarities between people.

This report from the charity Scope explores the attitudes that disabled people face and the effect that it has on their work, education and social lives. Statistics acquired over the last 12 months and previous 5 years indicate that 3 in 4 disabled people have experienced negative attitudes and behaviour from others. For disabled women and for younger disabled people, these experiences are more common.
